A Panchayat audit report is a report prepared to examine whether the Panchayat’s financial transactions and development activities have been carried out in accordance with the law. Through the audit, income and expenditure accounts, the implementation of projects, and the utilization of funds are evaluated. The report points out errors, irregularities, financial losses, and other shortcomings.

The Kerala State Audit Department conducts audits of the financial transactions and activities of Panchayats at regular intervals. After the audit, an audit report for the respective year is prepared. The Panchayat is required to prepare a reply to the irregularities and recommendations identified in the report and submit it online within 60 days.
