Data Bank

The Panchayat Data Bank is an information management system that systematically collects and maintains data relating to land, population, agriculture, infrastructure, natural resources, development activities, and other relevant aspects within the jurisdiction of the Panchayat. The Data Bank helps in preparing Panchayat plans and implementing development activities efficiently.

As per the Kerala Conservation of Paddy Land and Wetland Act, a separate Data Bank is also prepared in Panchayats containing information on paddy fields and wetlands. Details such as the nature of the land, extent, and location are recorded in the Data Bank. This information is useful for the protection of such land and for preventing unauthorized land filling and conversion.

The Data Bank ensures transparency and accuracy in the Panchayat’s administrative system. It plays an important role in delivering government schemes to the public and in planning development activities. The social, economic, and environmental information maintained in the Panchayat Data Bank serves as a guideline for future development.
